Ready, Set, Gig!!!

It's been too long. Here’s hoping you’re happy and healthy at present. Though the team and I are excited to get back to all things Featherburn, I also feel an awkwardness in writing after such an extended silence. Lend me some grace please as I try to cut through it - the bottom line is still gratitude and excitement. Though we all saw the digital world open wide to offer us opportunity to stay connected over the past two years, sitting in front of screens for work, play and also to stay social, gave way in my own world to tedium and void from missing friends and family in person. Getting back to making trips, going out, connecting with friends and family these past few months, face to face, heart to heart, I’ve been overjoyed by some of the sweetest reunions. One after another, probably just as many planned as unexpected. What a gift it’s been to meet again and trade stories upon stories, all so unique and touching, but at the same time similar in theme and humanity.  So many paths parted with the most heartfelt proclamations of “It’s so good to see you again.” It’s been like nectar to me. Although they were bodily safe, the past two and a half years were also tough for me, and Featherburn’s return to the world of live shows has turned out to be a long series of stuttering reboots. If I can be honest, although I wasn’t entirely aware it was happening at the time, and although I tried my best to make good of it, I did gradually succumb to a numby kind of sadness for not fully being able to do much of what I enjoy most.

But now. NOW, we're celebrating a deeper appreciation of the opportunities we have to be together, to share friendship, stories and yes, music, in one another’s presence. The band and I are looking forward to seeing that through with you. And to that point, we’ve got some return shows on the calendar. If you’re at all proximal to Lancaster or York, Pa this September & October, please come say hello. More dates and towns coming soon, but here’s to getting started!

Hope to see you soon!
