Picture Day!

Picture Day took place the other week and the edits are in!  Feels great to have a fully-functional band in place and at the same time, some nice pictures that accurately represent us.  It's been a long time since we've last had that and too many chutes and ladders to account for, I think, in an email that isn’t a lengthy biography.  It’ll have to be enough for the moment, just to relay some of the collective excitement about our current configuration. Holly shares such beautiful and expressive lead vocals - switching out between her flute and acoustic guitar. Bringing with them a decade of musical collaboration on fiddle and electric guitar, Chris and Michael know the music so well, and fire off beside us like a giant pair of conjoined left and right musical cannons.  John and Greg lock in behind us on bass and drums with expert precision and expression. I’ve been practicing too, each day bringing myself one step closer to a hybrid action accordion story-telling global take-over. If that isn’t enough, the six of us are singing and shouting our harmonic hearts out in fiery chorus. It’s well-rounded team of brilliant musicians at the ready. The band practices late into our weekly Tuesday nights, more proud by the session. The spirit and quality of performance we're about to deliver together… Well, if it only took a day between the arrival at readiness and the opportunity to demonstrate it, we’d be on stage this weekend. We’re quickly adding show dates to our calendar (featherburn.com/dates), but the big one to mark down is our CAMP album release party on Saturday, September 16th at the Chiques Rock Annex in Columbia, Pa. We’re pulling together a talented lineup of bands, performers and vendors for a full night of music, art, storytelling, food, fire and camping. We’re busy tracking parts for the album and excited to get the recordings out into the world. We hope to see you this summer at a show or out and about before the release party, but would enjoy most of all, to celebrate with you there on 9/16. More info as it comes in!

In the meanwhile, if you’ve got the interest and minutes to chime in on your favorite of our new band photos, we'd love to hear what you think. The link will be live for just a bit: featherburn.com/bandphotos

Monkey bars, all of us…
